My name is Echo. I was born and raised in Northern China. Standard Chinese of Mainland China is known by its official designation, simplified Mandarin, literally " common speech". Simplified Mandarin is based on the Northern Dialect, which I have spoke my whole life and I guarantee that I can help you learn to write and speak Chinese very well. During learning the simplified Chinese, you also be able to get familiar with traditional Chinese.

Simplified Chinese Characters( 简化字）are the standardized Chinese Characters prescribed in the Table of General Standard Chinese Characters for use in Mainland China, Malaysia, and Singapore.
The most obvious difference between Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese is the characters. Unlike the alphabetic systems used by most languages, Chinese is made up of characters, the majority of which are " pictophonetic". Every pictophonetic character has a meaning and a sound element. What are known as Simplified characters refer to those characters that have been thus simplified, and are used for official language in Mainland China. Traditional characters, on the other hand are those that retain their earlier form, which are used in Taiwan and Hongkong etc. Simplified characters have the advantages of being easier to learn, memorize, read and write. Here are three examples:
love 爱 (simplified) 愛 (traditional)
horse 马 (simplified) 馬 (traditional)
noodle 面 (simplified) 麵 (traditional)
Pinyin is the official romanization system for Standard Chinese in Mainland China and to some extent in Taiwan. The " Pinyin" literally translates into "spell sound". It's often used to teach Simplified Chinese characters and to look up the Standard Chinese in the Dictionary. In general, Pinyin is given four tones. Pinyin without tone marks is used to spell Chinese names and words in languages written with the Latin Alphabet and also in certain computer input methods to enter Chinese characters. Here is an example:
I love you 我爱你 wǒ ài nǐ
